I liked the large sized bedroom at Hotel Madera with a large bathroom. In addition to the two queen beds, we had a sofa, desk and chair, coffee bar, coat rack, even a little foyer - and this was a regular room, not a suite. The bathroom was generously sized too, and the shower was fantastic. Great thick towels and two robes, and the toiletries provided were above and beyond what you would expect at this price point. The beds were very comfortable with great mattresses, linens and feather pillows. All of the staff was friendly and helpful - from several front desk people who helped us at various times, to the several valets who fetched our car when we needed it, to the housekeeping staff that came in without a fuss and took care of business quickly. The on-site restaurant Firefly was fantastic for breakfast and brunch. The dinner sounded good too but we had other plans. There were black out shades that were very effective, we slept a little later than planned thanks to the great beds and shades. We had a back street view and we enjoyed seeing the other houses in Dupont Circle and skyline when we were relaxing in the room. The location was great - so many restaurants and shops within walking distance plus the metro was only a couple of blocks away. It was easy to drive in from out of town.

The hotel was easily accessible from the metro. We, however, managed to walk to the National Mall on several occasions but it is not the fastest option. The room was nicely big. We are a family of four, parents and two teenagers, and we had enough space. Also, the bathroom, due to its size, was easy to share. There was a restaurant next to the hotel, but it was also offered to the hotel guests. Unfortunately, we did not visit it due to our schedule for planned visits to the city and surroundings as part of a group spread over the city. We even enjoyed sitting on the balcony on a sunny day. The bed was comfy. The closet space was sufficient, and there was sufficient place to hang our jackets (wintertime) at the entranceway of the room. No noise from the street, which allowed us a good night's rest. Just down the street, there is TATTE bakery, a hip place with a nice coffee, bakery ware, and brunch and lunch options. However, go there with a lot of patience since the waiting line can be very long.

From my arrival to departure everything was super comfortable. The hotel has a fantastic location with loads of restaurants and bars nearby in DC’s DuPont Circle. The hidden gem of the place has to be its staff who were wonderful and so accommodating. Ended up extending my stay and they comped my upgrade and waived some fees too. Special shout-out to Maggie and Trevor at the front desk! I would 100% recommend this hotel, be it for work, tourism, whatever! Clean, large rooms with tons of natural light!

The room was super spacious, which is something we rarely say about a hotel room and very much appreciate when traveling with our two daughters. It was also spotless clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff is SUPER friendly especially the staff at the reception (thank you Eskedar for everything!), and the restaurant staff (thank you MJ!). The restaurant attached to the hotel is a very good choice for breakfast, although we mostly went out to local restaurants for most of our stay.

We loved the fresh air from the large balcony window. The front desk personnel were warm and welcoming. The location was great -- there are lots of good restaurant around Dupont Circle, and we were close to many Metro lines that we used to go everywhere quickly and easily.
